**Please note this information is being updated on a daily basis. Items may change before the first of the season. Check back in the days leading up to the season for final details.
The first day of GOTR will be on during the week of August 28th. There will be no meetings on days when school is not in session (i.e. school holidays, parent conferences, etc.), early release or when school is canceled due to inclement weather.
After each meeting, the coaches will be available to answer any of your questions. We ask that you please arrive within 10 minutes after each GOTR practice. If you are unable to arrive by the designated time, please make arrangements for another person to pick up your daughter. Our coaches are required to stay at each site until the last girl has been picked up or has walked home. Our coaches are volunteers and have other commitments outside of GOTR. If a parent is late, it might make our volunteers late or even miss their other commitments.
It is very important for girls to attend both sessions each week because the lessons build up from one to the next and because group relationships build over time. A girl who is absent more than 4 times may be removed from the program for the rest of the season.
There are three parts to every day: “Getting on Board” – to introduce the topic of the day; “The Warm-Up” – to slowly get the girls’ muscles warmed up; and “The Workout” – which is the more active part of the day. After each section there is time for discussion. Everyone’s ideas and comments are important and can be shared openly with the group. Everyday will end with spirit awards and cheers.
If at any time during the season you have any questions, concerns or stories, please send us an e-mail or call the Girls on the Run office at 208-388-4687, email Melissa.
